Recommended Books:
- Yoga the Iyengar Way. An excellent book for the beginner.
Colored pictures with step-by-step instruction on getting into and coming out of yoga postures.
- YOGA: The Path to Holistic Health. Another great book for the
beginner. Has large colored pictures with modifications (for injuries, to increase effectiveness
of the pose, etc.), and a large section showing sequences (with pictures) for specific
ailments (insomnia, osteoarthritis, migraines, backaches, asthma, etc.)
- Light on Yoga.. This is one of B.K.S. Iyengar’s first books
(first edition written in 1966). Contains from beginner to very advanced poses. All with
step-by-step instructions and benefits of the posture.
- Yoga: A Gem for Women. This is a great book for women. Full of poses
to benefit women during pregnancy, postpartum, to help regulate and lesson any negative effects
of menstruation, and poses for menopause.
